Research

The research done in the final project is mostly on what patterns I'm able to give the character, and how to really put them all together in a presentable manner. The guides I was able to use came from the examples given to us.

Process

I first started the art bible with the title scene, which was just to create the title card and add the characters into the black area.

Starting in order, I focused on the main boss' information, including the fully coloured character with the expressions.

To make a better transition from the title cards, I edited the border. I then quickly sketched the character's face close-ups just to spruce up the presentation.

I proceeded with drawing a simple splash art by making a new drawing of The Seeker and using an old image for The Harvester.

After finalizing the character arts and turnarounds, save for the main boss- there's not much to see from behind- I compiled them all in an Illustrator file.

Reflection:

Experience

Since the final project is a complete art book compilation from the characters to models to environment design, there was little left to do and readjust. However, since there was other event going on by the week I was only able to spare a few days to really refine everything. I enjoyed being able to revisit my drawings and see where improvement could be done.

Observation and Findings

seeing my previous artworks really got me curious as to how accurate or messy my paintings were. Sure, I really love messy artwork but I do have to try a cleaner version where it's digestible for the audience in terms of linework, colouring, and expressions. I was glad to see that I could tell what needed to be improved.
