FINAL REFLECTION
Experience
The entire 14 weeks I studied in this class I felt constantly excited to work on the next projects, on top of all the drained energy I've also dealt with. Sometimes I don't understand the perspective of the facilitators when they say a different version is better compared to the one I went with, and it frustrates me to choose between continuing with what my heart believes or to follow the suggestions. On top of all that, I had to juggle between classes and the process of moving nearing the final week, which was a major block in my path. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and although I'm not the best at it currently, I have plenty of time to keep improving!
Observation
Learning and studying typography for three-four months straight had made me slowly adapt to analyzing every bit of letterforms I see daily, whether it be on billboards or social medias. Once I got used to it I find myself second guessing if I really have a shot in the design world every now and then, and seeing my classmate's works tend to feed into the doubt of doing good constantly. However, the newly learned analytical skills have taught me to study those works instead of worrying about it.
Findings
I found from the subject and further reading just how detailed typography is. Before I enrolled in this major I believed typography would be more traditional compared to what it actually is, which is such a pleasant surprise. Through the guidance from my friends, classmates, lecturers, and self learning, I was able to learn and gradually get used to using various Adobe applications such as Illustrator or Photoshop, and more recently After Effects. I found the applications difficult to navigate, but I gained control after sessions of just hearing and seeing people demonstrate how to do certain things. The most memorable and cherished finding, besides all of the above, is being able to communicate with people using what I've created, and that is the best feeling of all.
