Week 1
Lecture 1
The start of my first offline class of this year was for this class. Before doing our tasks, the briefing of the short semester for this module was given. The topic is serving informative data by quantifying and visualizing it; to put it simply, making a design for a set of data. There are many ways to serve data in a 2 dimensional space, most commonly using graphic charts like pie or bar charts. The purpose of this module in general is to serve data in more creative areas by utilizing animations or even 3D spaces.
We were given a lecture about introduction to information visualization; numbers, data, charts, statistics all count as information visualization. It branches off to more modern and worldwide approach such as advertisements. It is important to visualize data, as it can be used for charts like maps or blueprints. As Ms Noranis pointed out from the slides, visual information is processed 60,000 times faster than text.
Lecture 2
Our second lecture explained about motion graphics. Motion graphics are compositions with the addition of animations. Composition itself is graphics and typography, while animation is movement with rhythm. To create one, we have to first write the script and sounds needed. Storyboards come next to brainstorm how the art direction will be like. Once storyboards are cleaned up they should be turned into the finalized version in the application of our choosing, and then animate it.

Exercise: Introduction to Motion Graphics
One of the first things we needed to do was find inspiration for our upcoming group task, which is to make an infographic animation. To do so, we must select three graphic motion videos to take inspiration from.
The first example I would like to add is show in this video embedded as figure 1.1. The animation and components are all simple but it expresses the word it's trying to emphasize very clearly. More than that, the animations and transitions are smooth and both the music and scenes complete the experience. From this graphic motion I am inspired to contribute a minimalistic expression and the transitions.
The second video deserves the attention it's gotten. Although it's the complete opposite of the previous video, it's done just as well. Colors in this graphic motion include a lot of pink, blue, and yellow. The transitions of the graphics are complicated but it's what I find eye-catching and worth a try as I believe it'll be what audiences would enjoy more.
The final inspiration I will get from is this video. The details are very intricate and it's animation along with it are just as detailed. It is much more complicated than the previous two, but what I will try to reference is the composition placement and the idle animations supporting the main component.

Week 3
Adjust script breakdown to fit the duration of audio and illustrations.
Week 4
Visualizations are not too explicit but understandable.
Week 5
Reuse repeating animations, use appropriate arrows in storyboarding and animatics, balance the compositions.
Week 6
Flip the donut chart horizontally, use less texts.
Week 7
Apply easy ease and motion blue to all animations, utilize the reshape/morph function.
Reflection
Performing within a group has never been easy for me. However, in this semester I met one of the best group of people I could have possibly worked with. Everyone was responsive and I had an overall good experience. With everyone working together, we were able to produce a consistent final project animation that I'm pleased with. There are some times when others and I forgot to follow the story board or use the color palette already decided. However, this was no problem at all as we could communicate the problems with each other and have it amended together.
Within the seven weeks, I learned through tutorial sessions and searching up animation tips a lot of things. Most memorably is the morphing function as well as easy ease and motion blur. The difference is subtle, but after I was introduced to it I realized how much smoother animations look overall. As we were introduced to these tricks, I started searching for more. I've yet to learn the entirety of after effect's presets but I figured out how to do better animations with less trouble.
